“But Is It True?”

“But Is It True?”

Three men reading the same book, asking the same question. A question which everyone who reads the Bible asks at some time or the other. “But is it true?” Whether you were raised in a Christian family which accepted the Bible as the Word of God or you grew up demanding hard proof before taking someone’s word on anything, the claims of the Bible are so stunning any human being is forced to ask, “Did these things actually happen? Is this message too good to be true?”

The Bible is a book about the supernatural. From beginning to end God is not only present, he is the major player. To take the miracles out of the Bible would be to throw it away. Even more incredible, however, is the message: God loves small, insignificant human beings so much he is willing to become one of us and die on a cross to rescue us for all eternity!!!

With some books, whether or not the events described in them happened, doesn’t really matter. The purpose of the author is to create an emotion or feeling. But that is not the case with the Bible. If it is not a book of history, it is worse than nothing to us – it is the greatest deception. That is why the writers of the Bible went to such lengths to affirm that their message was not only true but inspired by God himself. Were they right? Only you can decide. Join us this Sunday morning for our worship service. The answer to the question about the Bible, “But is it true?” is too important to blow off with indifference.
